Most hobby platforms feel overwhelming or short-lived. Users struggle to choose the right hobby, stay consistent, and understand what they’re paying for. From a business perspective, unclear value communication leads to drop-offs and low retention. Hobby & Me needed a system that guided users step by step, reduced confusion, and clearly communicated how hobbies, subscriptions, and deliveries worked together.
The Problem
To design a clear, engaging platform that helps users discover the right hobby, understand the subscription model, and stay motivated through structured projects, guided learning, and simple progress tracking.
The Goal
Our Approach
We started with usability testing and early concept validation to understand how users explore hobbies and make decisions. Based on insights, we defined a clear experience strategy focused on guidance, clarity, and motivation. We designed structured flows for hobby discovery, project progression, and subscriptions. Each screen was tested for clarity, reduced cognitive load, and ease of navigation. The final design balances creativity with structure, ensuring users always know what to do next.
Simplified hobby discovery using guided suggestions instead of overwhelming lists
Clear separation between hobby details, projects, and delivery information
Visual hierarchy focused on images first, details second, decisions last
Reduced friction in subscriptions by explaining value before pricing
Designed progress tracking to motivate users without pressure
Key Design Decision
Outcome
The final design delivers a calm, structured experience that makes hobby learning feel achievable. Users can easily understand what a hobby includes, how projects progress, and what they receive through the subscription. The system is scalable for adding new hobbies, plans, and features without increasing complexity.
